This week was kinda interesting..firstly, a Molecular and Cell bio lab session in which we determined our blood and rhesus types. We had to prick our finger with a lancet..the most humane way to draw blood i guess.

Everything was fine, except that i had to be pricked twice in order to extract enough blood to carry out the tests..probably due to thick skin on my finger tips( or because vivian dunno how to poke properly..haha!hrmm..)
The same cant be said for my unfortunate lab partner..havent even shoot the lancet yet already screaming like mad..and then kept pulling her hand away at the last minute..After a few attempts, i managed to succesfully prick her and blood just came gushing out..Nervous la tuu, ur heart mustve been pumping at like 180 beats per minute haha!...blame me again for not pricking properly..

we tested our blood in various antiserum solutions and observed for clumping
tadaa...mine(left) basically says that im AB with positive rhesus and vivian's(right) says that shes B with positive rhesus as well.
We then observed our own nucleus for Barr Bodies..to make it short and sweet without going into much bio, if ure a girl u have one and if ur a guy, u dont have one. And im not to sure if i could find any in vivian's nucleus oopsss HAHAHAHA! joking!!
On Tuesday, i had BIO119 lab in which i was 'married' to Miss Yap(shivers....) and produced 2 heterozygous children..all in the name of science..and also to prove the Hardy-Weinberg theorem wrong HAHA! No pictures from that utterly disturbing day..we did however do an experiment in which we mutated a bacteria culture using ultraviolet light to give rise to a more antibiotic resisting strain..and it worked!
Met with dear Nadine on Wednesday..ivan betrayed us. Went to Midvalley and did some shopping..the shops were so so packed.Urgh. Ive been there enough times to memorize most of the shops location. Nadine told me stuff which i had not known for almost 2 years..how shocking to only find out now hahaha!..had a good time catching up on each other's life. Next time we lepak again k!
The peak of my week. Bloody Thursdays. As usual..class started at 8am..Chem lab was ok, centrifuged solutions for qualitative analysis of cations..had a BTE quiz as well..break at 1pm, resumed classes at 2pm. Had more fun with SPSS in the Computer lab and finally ended the day at 6pm with Ms Yap's BIO119 lecture(boring, got angry..lousy mood overall)..and theennn..went for Chinese Kickboxing at 7.15pm till 10pm..let loose my inner aggression on the punching bag. It was really fun despite being totally drained by the end of it. I learnt the proper fighting stance as well as cross jabs and knee butts..cant wait to get started on the really cool stuff..like grappling, joint locks, low kicks, etc...
The 'warm up' was a killer though..skip rope 200 times, sit up 30 times and pushup 30 times..did this other thing in which we had to pull our upper body off the ground (face facing the floor)while someone else sat on ur legs..sort of the opposite of a situp.i felt like a worm..30 times as well. Ill look like Hulk Hogan by the end of this sem hahaha!( i wish :s)
